Forest fancy free frolic

They who feed on the living, are attracted to red, and live in the forest appear to be gone for the year. Knowing such we ventured deep into the forest and captured these images of the place:

Is this summer?

It never seems to have warmed up here and we’re dreading the winter. I mean, you’re supposed to get HOT during the summer and look forward to winter because you are sick of the HOT. But that’s just not happening this year.

I think though that we may have an irrational fear of winter since last winter. I hope so. Here’s support for our irrational fear. As you can see below last winter we had TWICE the average snowfall for over 100 inches! I hope to never see that again but now we do fear winter…

Day at the beach

Lake Michigan – there really is a beach here, I just didn’t get any nice pictures of it.

Prairie and wetland

Lake Kegonsa State Park. Lake Kegonsa is the first of the four lakes of the four lakes region. It’s also the nastiest being the most down stream from Madison. We used to be able to swim at the beach pictured last (albeit ‘used to’ is like 2 years ago…), this year its just nasty. The prairie and wetlands are still very nice though.
